Discover

Dang it! I started a great post last night at work, but they updated the app and I lost the ability to save as draft. GGRRR!

Anyway, I've been blogging in my head for days and it's time to start spilling. Last night on the drive to work I was struck by inspiration and I got my word of the year for 2013. :-)

Discover. I've had Focus, Open, Believe, Explore, and Queen, but now I'm ready to Discover. What I'm made of, who I really am, what I really want and what I am capable of. Who is this Queen anyway?

Discover.

If you want more background on the Word for the Year, click on the archive on the right and read June 26, 2011. It spells it all out. I just read it and realized that I skipped last January because I hadn't picked Queen til June the year before. I also think I skipped a year in there somewhere. Probably during that odd period of time when I ignored my friends warnings and wasn't true to myself. :-p

Lessons learned. Moving forward.

And speaking of moving forward, I have made a new friend. Yes, it's a guy. A smoking hot, very cool guy that I am incredibly attracted to. But alas, we are just friends at this point in time. He is the first person I have ever met who can discuss enlightenment, quantum physics, and the NWO all in one sitting. The knock me out moment was last night when I found out he was a hockey fan! Where have you been all my life?? Apparently getting a girlfriend. UGH.

A wise person once told me that relationships always end, but friends are forever. I'll take comfort in wisdom today.

In other news, the big kids drive home from college today. Woot! Woot! I can't wait to hold them in my arms and have the peace that only comes when a mother has her whole brood safely under one roof. I'm bracing myself for the chaos, anticipating the laughter and memory-making, and already sad that Al is only here for a week and Cass for two. I'll take what I can get. The older they get I'm grateful they want to come home at all. :-)

I think we're caught up for now. I've begun setting up the studio and I hope to have some Art to blog about soon.
